don't call me brave
February 2021, Solo Exhibition 'Don't Call Me Brave' at Segue Community Hub. Curated by Steve Hall.
When the opportunity arose for Nadia to exhibit for Stratford's Segue Gallery, she put a call out, offering to photograph people to utilize as subjects. She had an overwhelming response from Women all throughout the hills community and eastern suburbs. As she photographed these women, they told her stories about their lives and the hardship, joys, and everything in between they had experienced. Don't Call Me Brave shared the perspectives of women through their faces and expressions. It encourages women to share their experiences and find safety in other women, it aimed to help people understand the way our genders are treated differently and how women are called 'brave' for the hardship they encounter.
