About The Artist

20220407_174011.jpg

Nadia is a 24 year old contemporary artist, living in Melbourne, Victoria. She has been painting large-scale oil portraits since 2015 when her year 12 art teacher suggested the medium and she reluctantly gave it a go.

She soon discovered that his suggestion had some significance, as she quickly fell in love with the gooey texture and vibrant tones that are so unique to oils. She primarily paints on unstretched canvas and allows the turpentine to drip and land organically into the contours of the surface.

Nadia is the only member of her immediate family who doesn’t have a degree in Graphic design, however her creative family have always been unwaveringly supportive in all of her artistic pursuits. In 2018, Nadia graduated from her Theatre degree, with Distinction and she continues to pursue opportunities in the performance field.

Nadia has always been fascinated by human expression and she explores this in both performance and visual arts and believes that these art forms go hand in hand and are equally important to each other in her life. She practices the human experience through acting and directing and then portrays these characters and their personalities on canvas.

She strives to capture an atmosphere and evoke feeling within the viewer rather than focusing on proportions or reality too intently and she encourages viewers to feel whatever they feel when peering into the eyes of her faces.
